I haven't posted for a while for two reasons. First, I have been pretty dang busy. Second, I watched an Oprah on internet predators and this security guy comes on and says that he doesn't understand why people post pictures of their children on the internet and how he would never post pictures of his kids.
Well, this totally creeped me out because all I do is post pictures of my kid. I was discouraged for a while and actually thought about deleting all my posts. But really, it seems very unlikely that anyone would be looking at my blog who didn't already know me and this sure is a convenient way to update everyone. We'll see. I'm trying to balance caution with paranoia. Let me know if you have an opinion.

Some things we did in May
Danica has discovered the best in the house for many occasions.

Danica, Kristi, and Summer enjoying a dip in the pool. They're all getting older and changing so fast. This was the first time the girls did all the playing with Danica in the pool and I didn't feel like I needed to be in there with them- I just stayed close enough. Danica would disappear upstairs to play with the kids and I didn't feel like I had to check on her every two minutes to make sure she wasn't eating candles or something.

Action shot at 3rd Street Promenade.

This is Danica's little friend at school. If there's anything cuter than a little girl in pink, it's two little girls in pink.

The beginning scholar.

Note to self: People who are allergic to every furry animal on the planet and are generally repulsed by animal smells should not take their children to the petting zoo. It's disturbing for the adult and disappointing for the child. It never occurred to me that she would actually want to go IN the pen with the animals.
Vomit.
I wonder if she understood me when I kept repeating, "You'll have to come back with your dad."

Operating heavy machinery.

Washable markers are a great invention. She wears her backpack while watching Dora.

Smoothies and Suckers and Tiny Tiny Shoes
Nothing like a hot bath followed by a refreshing smoothie followed by another hot bath.

In case you didn't know, See's chocolate suckers are very delicious.

We opened the Junie doll that the Murillothon got for her birthday today. Junie comes with a brush, a spare dress, and a pair of shoes. This is how we spent our time with her:
Brushing Junie's hair - 7 mins.
Changing Junie's dress - 3 mins.
Wearing Junie's shoes - All day and still going strong.

Breaking Bad
This show is on AMC and just started its second season a couple weeks ago. It's really entertaining and I highly recommend that you go out of your way to check it out. An overqualified, underpaid, underinsured high school chemistry teacher finds out he has cancer and decides to start cooking crystal meth to pay medical bills and build a nest egg for his family. He teams up with a local drug dealer who is also a former flunkie student of his because he needs a distributor and the hilarity ensues.

Man Crush
My husband has a complete man crush on Daniel Plainview. I don't think he'd even deny it. I think he looks to him every few weeks or so when he needs a little motivation. Who's Daniel Plainview you ask? http://www.imdb.com/media/rm859478016/ch0032907

First Attempt
Okay, I had a minute to post...
We tried potty training a few weeks ago when Danica turned two. She would sit for up to an hour and not go and when I would finally let her up (because it was starting to feel like child abuse), she would immediately pee on the floor two feet away. She was actually holding it until I let her stand. I don't think she quite made the connection. I think we'll try a new technique in March.

I got some good potty training ideas from a play date we had yesterday. There were five children there and coincidentally they are all mixed. Here's three of them.

And a couple random pics: Danica and Nicholas watching TV.

Sunshine in the morning.

Inauguration Day
Not a moment too soon. I don't have anything to add to all the day's coverage for this momentous occasion so here are some pics instead.
The Murillothon Family at Ethan's first birthday party.

Tearin' it up in the yard.

At her first Supercross. We were worried that she'd get tired and cranky from the noise but she loved it- the crowds, fireworks, and the general commotion. The dazed look is because she had a bit of a snot nose which erupted into a full-on chest cold that she's still hacking from today.

No boundaries.

Safety first. Danica likes to wear her helmet around the house especially when Supercross is on TV.

Happy New Year!
I wish you health and happiness for you and your loved ones.
This is what we've been doing.

Christmas morning. Eric is showing Danica how to enjoy "her" new toy.

We had a lovely visit from the newlyweds.
"Thanks for my cruise line outfit Auntie Coco and Uncle Nene!"

Enjoying the seasons. As everyone knows, it is perfectly acceptable to wear shorts YEAR ROUND.

Danica personally knows Handy Manny aka the Murillothon.

Me, Isabella, Alessandra, and Danica a few weeks ago at the Enchilada Shootout, just minutes after someone spilled wine on the rug behind me. Al is my friend from high school.

Child's Pose.

This is one way to wear your sunglasses at night.

Nothing like enjoying a fine beverage with the grandparents.

Dad's been teaching Danica how to slide down the hill on her butt. Turns out
Dad doesn't do the laundry.

What are these things? And why does Grandpa keep giving them to me?

Wiped out from the park. Yes, she still uses a bottle. No, I do not intend on making her quit anytime soon. Yes, she is the size of a three-year-old. Yes, it's vaguely embarrassing in public. But it's not as if she isn't going to get into college because I let her keep her bottle too long.
